Gary will guide us through areas in the Cypress Hills where cougars have previously been noted. If we are lucky, we will see cougar spoor. If we are extremely lucky, we might even get a sighting (akin to winning a lottery)! Most of you have likely participated in the Chicken Dance! This is your chance to participate in the REAL Chicken Dance (Sharp-tailed Grouse that is)! Ben Velner is leading a field trip to the Manyberries area on March 31 to view this amazing nature show live as well as to observe other bird and animal species of this area including: Pronghorns, Coyotes, Ferruginous Hawks, Meadowlarks and waterfowl of many species including Tundra Swans.
Meeting location and time: Medicine Hat Mall (across from Tim Horton's) at 6:00 AM where we will carpool. Bring a lunch as this trip will likely last until mid afternoon. |

A tour of Medicine Hat's Heritage Trees will take place Thursday June 21st at 7:00 PM. Meet at St Joseph's Home's beautiful American Elm (156 3rd St NE - walk up the driveway and enter the "park" on the east side). The tour will last approx 90 minutes. Note: if the weather is bad on June 21st, the walk wil ltake place one week later, June 28th - same time and place. |
